
Jackson Watts, Phoebe McCowan Named to 2025 SEC Community Service Team
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Wildcat representatives Jackson Watts and Phoebe McCowan have been named to the 2025 SEC Track and Field Community Service Team, per the release from the conference office Thursday afternoon.
The SEC Community Service Team is a continuing effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition, the Southeastern Conference has highlighted a Community Service Team for track & field/cross country for the 2025 season. The conference names a Community Service Team for each of its 22 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his community through superior service efforts.
Watts has contributed to several different groups and local organizations, primarily working as a mentor for the Big Brother Big Sister program. In his four years at UK, he has completed over 100 total hours of community service and assisted with organizations such as the Frank G. Ham Society of Character, Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Pre-Dental Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Since joining the Wildcats in 2021, McCowan has completed 172.5 total hours of community service and contributed to many service projects with UK Healthcare and the Human Health Sciences Volunteer Researcher. Her academic accolades include a career 4.0 GPA, acceptance into the UK College of Medicine, an 8x Dean’s List honoree and a 5x SEC Academic Honor Roll member.
